He is represented as a fidgety, anxious yet talkative man possibly in his early '20s, but throughout the game, it's never really revealed how old he is. Fairly early into the game, you are met up with the first character to join your gang named Garry, who keeps you company for the majority of the game. Ib and her gang interact with their vision of the world differently, and though it may be perplexing at first, the game slowly uncovers that perplexity. The dialogue throughout Ib is an absolute gem, especially considering this is still an "indie horror game". Each "area", so to speak, is easily distinguishable, varying in colours of its environment. It is compelling and eerie, at the same time, to see where things are going, and most of it is helped by the immersive and alluring soundtrack. The longer you spend inside this haunted art gallery, the more preternatural activity is seen. But, Ib is able to produce and relay enough information for you to "know" what she thinks and how everything around her interacts. Ib is able to draw this "obscurity" or uncertainty, if you will, from the fact that she is a first-timer when it comes to art galleries blatantly, she's never been to one, so all of this "experience" is new to her. There's enough content to help you understand what is happening around you as you venture into the depths of the unknown, but there's enough obscurity in the environment, that informs you that what you think is happening isn't exactly right. It's a scary process, and Ib pulls it off satisfyingly well. What lies behind Ib is an evocative experience of friendship, betrayal, and wondering what would happen if mannequins actually did come to life.

For an indie horror game, Ib is driven more to be a harmless art gallery visit that soon turns and twists all kinds of weird with obscure dialogue, and downright creepy atmospheres. Inside the art gallery comes harmless sculptures of bodies that really shouldn't have been scraped, artworks of inanimate and wacky objects, and all kinds of other creations. Welcome to the World of Guertena - a vibrant showcase of a vibrant artist. "Ib's true form of horror comes from the fraught dilemmas." By sxerks | Review Date: October 19, 2015
